It is such fun to look back through our cruise photographs from our FIRST cruise ever, on the NCL Joy! Norwegian Cruise Line whisked us away to Roatán, Honduras, where we experienced a shore excursion to Maya Key Private Island Retreat. This was just a short boat ride a few minutes from the port. We loved relaxing on the beach, the delicious island lunch, and a brief walking tour to see the unique animals who have been rescued.
The image of Roatán as we sailed away at night is a memory we will always carry with us-so beautiful!
The next day, we walked out on our verandah to see the beautiful port city of Belize. We enjoyed every moment at NCL's private island, Harvest Caye, with the beach, large pool area, shops & dining (including the BEST Belizean chocolate cake ever)!
One of the coolest things about cruising is waking up in the morning at a new destination! Our next stop was in Costa Maya, Mexico and here we had a shore excursion adventure to the memorable Chacchoben Mayan ruins!
The last stop was exploring Cozumel, and then we enjoyed more relaxation on the pool deck, delicious food, and entertainment (the live music groups on the NCL Joy were wonderful).
We have fallen in love with cruising and are now addicted! The relaxation and ease of this way of vacationing has drawn us in for sure. We cherished time spent in the observation lounge in our comfy chairs, gazing out at the ocean and enjoying refreshments. Are you curious about a cruise vacation?
